Where does addiction come from? The answer has deep implications for treatment, obviously. It’s Dr. Brown’s belief that addiction is learned, which means it can be unlearned. And how is it learned? Through a near-universal parenting system based—unconsciously and to widely varied degrees—on control, rather than love.
