All addictive behaviors are variations on the mother of them all: control
We are fundamentally powerless. But we don’t believe it. We try to control it all, fail, and then self-medicate the deepening sense of frustration, anger, and disappointment. And so this impulse to control is the undiagnosed addiction behind all the others. Solution? Another fundamental: what you can control is yourself.

The Supremes: Take that, compulsory heterosexuality!
Most of us live or have lived in the vice grip of ideas, principles, and institutions imposed on us by others. Compulsory heterosexuality is one such crappy institution that’s done a lot of harm. Now it’s going to be a little harder to control people’s minds, hearts, and bodies in this particularly deep, painful way. Which is healthier for everyone. Continue
